Twelve Years!

One of my favorite stories
about my husband that always brings a smile to me is
when we went to visit my brother last spring break. We
flew with the boys to Texas. It was the first occasion
that the boys both asked to sit next to Dad on the
plane and for an instant I was hurt but then quickly
recovered and thought to myself, " oh, that would be
nice." But in the end the boys were sitting with me.
The boys were at the ages that I was constantly busy,
getting them snacks, toys, reading to them, setting up
dvds, adjusting earphones, helping them get comfortable
- non-stop busy. I remember glancing over at my husband
across the aisle and seeing him as happy as can be. He
was sitting next to two very attractive young woman,
busy talking and smiling. At one point he even
introduced me to Natasha and Sasha - yeah he definitely
was in my seat! I totally belonged with the _ashas.
We finally made it to Texas and as we made our way to get our rental car, carrying sleeping boys. Brad excitedly shared with me his conversations with Natasha & Sasha, and and how I would have enjoyed them. And this is when he says that he realizes his passion in life - HIS PASSION IN LIFE IS TO CONNECT WITH PEOPLE.
I loved it! Believe me, on the way home I made sure he connected with his two boys and I did feel bad when our oldest son threw up all over him. But what Brad said is true, it's what he does and it's why I married him. He can talk to anyone, he's interested and that makes him so interesting. At my 20th reunion, my classmates were hugging him! Many were confused, and thought he went to school with us. No, that's just my husband - the guy who connects with people! My best friend, my boys father, and the one I want to be with for the rest of my life.
Happy 12th Anniversary! Thanks for all that we've created and built together, most of all thank you for being you.
I love you,
