I can't believe Summer is here. I was avoiding it for the longest time, not wanting to get out in the yard and start working the land. It all seemed to be overwhelming, I can hardly maintain the inside of the house, how would I find the time to maintain our wooded lot? In years past it has been my passion - I work the land, have visions of transforming it and take 100% credit in its completion; but for some reason not this year. The vision gone, so the weeds started to grow and grow and I watched from inside. Finally my dad called and said he'd come over to help me. I perked up instantly and waited for him to drive up the driveway before I went outside. Now my Dad is not a man of many words but he has a way about him. It's really hard to describe because it's not like we talked while working side by side in my yard for 4 hours straight. We worked, sweated, shoveled and weeded like nobody's business, and yet I was with my Dad. He comes over and there's a feeling of peace, without words I know him and I feel his love. This man who always comes when I call, who treats me like a princess, who loves my two boys unconditionally and always with an ease of patience and candy:) is "MY" Daddy!

Thanks Dad, for inspiring me in every way, showing me that a little hard work "on the land" is healing, fun, and inspirational. I'm looking forward to having a beer with you and sitting back to enjoy "our" work this Father's Day, but most of all Daddy, I just want you to know how much I love you by giving you a hug, (and some cool presents too!:)*
